About Talia

Growing up in her hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota, Talia trained in a variety of dance techniques including ballet, contemporary, modern, lyrical, musical theater, character, and jazz since she was three years old. She was a pre-professional student with St. Paul Ballet before joining Ballet Co.Laboratory’s trainee program where she performed and trained alongside the company for three years, and danced at summer intensive programs at Next Generation Ballet and Boston Ballet. Talia graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Psychology and a secondary in Theater, Dance, and Media, where she was also a member of the Harvard Ballet Company and choreographed several concert dance pieces as well as created two short dance films. She danced at the Ivy Ballet Exchange conference in New York City in 2025 as well as shared her dance knowledge through Harvard Ballet Company’s mentorship initiative Beyond the Barre. During her time at Harvard, Talia researched many facets of dance psychology including dancers’ mental health, dance as a form of kinesthetic therapy, and the visual perception of choreography. Talia currently works with the Chicago School of Musical Arts, an organization that establishes afterschool programming based in the arts providing students with access to dance, music, visual arts, and is a dance competition judge with Triple S Dance Competition, combining her passion for the arts and education.

Talia’s Choreography

Talia’s unique choreographic vision thinks of choreography as a form of emotional and introspective expression. With her background in psychology, she transforms abstract feelings and concepts into the embodied, visual form of dance, and researches how dance and choreography can be used as a form of therapeutic treatment.
